Google&#8217;s EU User Consent policy deals is part of their GDPR compliance and deals largely with obtaining permissions to use cookies and to personalise ads. Because Google needs permission to process personal information they need publishers to collect that permission.<\/p>\n<p>Google&#8217;s policy has quite specific requirements and publishers using some of the best known GDPR solutions such as the Quantcast Choice CMP have been surprised to receive warnings that they are not compliant due to the way that they have been implemented.<\/p>\n<p>OKO have recently published a free guide to making your website compliant with Google&#8217;s EU User Consent policy. This Policy outlines your responsibility for making disclosures to, and obtaining consent from, end users of your sites and apps in the European Economic Area (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.efta.int\/eea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.efta.int\/eea&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1547894134086000&amp;usg=AFQjCNE_nUY7z2kKqBWkk1ZZ9XuDWGDqBw\">EEA<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It has come to our attention that the site(s) or app(s) listed in the attached file don&#8217;t obtain consent from users and, therefore, don&#8217;t comply with our Policy. Our Policy reflects our understanding of\u00a0<span class=\"il\">GDPR<\/span>\u00a0compliance based on guidance from EU\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Data<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Protection<\/span>\u00a0Authorities (DPAs).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you&#8217;ve received guidance from your local DPA which indicates that in fact your current approach satisfies its requirements for\u00a0<span class=\"il\">GDPR<\/span>\u00a0compliance, please let us know.
